A New You In The New Year!

".........................Hence the necessity for a new heart. With a new heart, we remember the pain and the suffering Christ went through for our sins in order that condemnation wasn't the last chapter of our life but a new beginning, a new life, a new hope, a future on the dawn of a new day in the new year. Instead of preparing the land by making it new with our traditions of cooking black eye peas and greens, fish and entering the new year with a clean home and clothes washed--let's trade in our RELIGION for a RELATIONSHIP. Why settle for luck concerning our finances by depending on a man to enter into our homes with a pocket full of money? Instead, why not trust God to enter into our hearts, let us trust God and tithe our 10% and watch how God opens up the window of heaven and pours you out a blessing that there shall not be room enough to receive it.
Perhaps there is someone who needs to know that God loves them soo much, and at times if we would be honest, GOD LOVES US TOO MUCH if we kept a record of the many times we have failed Him! He loves us more than we deserve! He loves us to a fault. He loves us from the depths of HIS HEART to which we will never be able to comprehend because He was not only willing but gave up HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON that whosoever believes in him will not perish but will have everlasting life.
I feel compelled to encourage someone to begin this New Year with a new heart, a new spirit inside of the new you you will become with your new relationship in Jesus Christ that you may have life more abundantly. God loves you, He wants you and will never give up on you...He will never fail you. Old things have passed away, behold all things become new.....Blessed is he whose sins are forgiven....See God is not like us, people will hold your past against you, but God will never hold your past sins against you because your new name will be--FORGIVEN!" Today, Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the Lenten season. The lenten season is observed to better appreciate the death, and resurrection of Christ through self-examination, repentance, prayer, fasting, and self-denial. In addition, Ash Wednesday has another significant meaning for me. It was on this day, Ash Wednesday that the Lord brought me out of my induced coma in 2000, March 8th to be exact. Prior to that, I could only recall seeing my brother the night of the fire  in January who accompanied me in the ambulance while being transported to what was then called UMDNJ in Newark, NJ. On that Ash Wednesday, I can remember seeing both my grandmother and my mommy sitting in my hospital room. Grandma holding a can of Pepsi, and mommy doing something with my feet, lol. Probably clipping my toe nails. There is also that taste of chicken broth or soup I will never forget fed to me intravenously along with other fluids to sustain me while I was in a coma. I heard it said once that people don't evangelize because they are too concerned about their finances. Instead of concerning ourselves with our finances, we need to make our trust in God a priority. Outside of God we will never have enough or be satisfied: therefore, we ought to totally rely upon the strength of God who is our Source and promised that we would not go without lack nor seed begging for bread. I've tried God at His word. There was a time I needed $500 and God laid me on the heart of someone and said, "God laid you on my heart to be a blessing to." The "things" we spend time worrying about that would potentially take our minds off of doing the work of God, God is already working that situation out for you. You just have to trust Him and continue in the work while you wait for Him to fulfill that which He promised.
