Be About Your Father's Business!

All to often we talk a good game but in the end we have not produced anything that points others to faith in Christ.  We are destined for greatness yes but in what ways are we moving to be accomplished in those areas in our lives.  In order to get some where on a bike, you have to exert some energy.  You have to be the man or the woman behind the machine pedaling and steering that machine until you have reached your desired destination.

What are you waiting for?  Do you think you are different than any one else that has to put in the effort, the work, the blood, sweat, and the tears? Nothing from nothing leaves nothing.  Although God will complete the work he began in all of us, with the creative power and the deposit of the Holy Spirit on the inside of us, we already came prepared and equipped to get the job done.  All God desires if we be willing to participate.  If we be willing to go wherever he leads us.  If we be willing to put some action to a lot of the talk we talk.

Faith without works is dead and talk is cheap.  Show others that Christ is alive by the life you live and the good works he has predestined for you to do in the earth.  God promises to make room, and he will give you opportunity but you too must activate the gift(s) on the inside of you and make it habit to do so.

Faithfully and consistently work towards the completion of your goals in order to make room for new goals and accomplishments.  Get out of your own way.  Stop complaining.  Focus and be about your Father's business.

When people notice you're gone for a minute, when you return, make sure you do with some Good News.  Make sure you return with some fruit.  Make sure you return with new revelation and new inspiration that will feed the hungry and destitute.

Don't put off what you can do today.  If tomorrow is cast into the oven then make the best of what you can do for the progression of the gospel sake!

Today, Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the Lenten season. The lenten season is observed to better appreciate the death, and resurrection of Christ through self-examination, repentance, prayer, fasting, and self-denial. In addition, Ash Wednesday has another significant meaning for me. It was on this day, Ash Wednesday that the Lord brought me out of my induced coma in 2000, March 8th to be exact. Prior to that, I could only recall seeing my brother the night of the fire  in January who accompanied me in the ambulance while being transported to what was then called UMDNJ in Newark, NJ. On that Ash Wednesday, I can remember seeing both my grandmother and my mommy sitting in my hospital room. Grandma holding a can of Pepsi, and mommy doing something with my feet, lol. Probably clipping my toe nails. There is also that taste of chicken broth or soup I will never forget fed to me intravenously along with other fluids to sustain me while I was in a coma. Its been 16 years fr...

No Room For Excuses!

There was this young woman diagnosed with leukemia and she spent a considerable amount of time in cancer treatment facilities.   Everyone that came in contact with this young lady always referred to her as remarkable, and resilient. It baffled them how she was able to keep such a sweet spirit considering all she has endured.  The doctors and medical specialists couldn't understand it. When they would shake their heads, she opened her heart and then began to testify of God's goodness in the midst of the storm. When the doctors came in with some "bad news" she was quick to tell them about the hope she had in Christ Jesus. Again, they couldn't understand how she could believe in a God that allowed her to experience so much suffering. Politely she would explain that her suffering is not a death sentence or a reflection of God's lack of love for her. In her suffering she experiences the grace of God that others in her weakness may witness His strength. ...
Diamonds, there was a young person a part of her church's youth group and she shared that she wanted a job in a strip club. "The strip club," they asked? "Yes, the strip club. There is a job opening as a cook and while I'm there I want to share the gospel with the strippers," she explained to her youth group. Well, her youth leader, along with her youth group carpooled to the strip club and prayed over the building in the dead of winter. They then proceeded by writing her work sc hedule down after she got the job and when she was scheduled to work, they each agreed to pray. After the young person ministered to the other young women in the strip club and introduced them to Jesus Christ, they responded by coming into the church, giving their lives to Christ and made the decision to change occupations. What an awesome testimony of God's love, light, and grace being dispensed into the world! May this testimony encourage someone to follow God's ...
