Naked & Ashamed

"Naked & Ashamed!"
Do you remember a time when you felt naked and ashamed? Perhaps you are feeling naked right now having discovered you are pregnant when others were unaware that you were even having premarital sex. What if you discovered you have a STD or the person you thought cared so much about you and who you surrendered your virginity to broke up with you. To heighten the issue, your ex has just told his boys or her girls about how you didn't live up to their expectations in bed.
Well, let me tell you a story about Adam & Eve who sinned against God and afterwards they experienced what we could call, "the walk of shame." So much so that they tried covering themselves up by making a covering with fig leaves and they hid from God.
The Bible says, "Adam and his wife were both naked, and they felt no shame," Gen. 2:25. (NLT) "Naked" my friends and "felt no shame" are in perfect harmony; there are no barriers and no shame from the absence of barriers. There was harmony between: 1.) God and creation; 2.) God and humanity; and 3.) harmony between Adam and his wife.
When the couple sinned, they turned the harmonious dynamic God created upside down. Their sin caused a beautiful situation into a tragedy but not one where God was not willing to intervene. He is the "Great Fixer" of our lives and situations. Soooo, before you decide to "fix" your own life by making a covering for yourself as Adam and Eve did by using fig leaves and hiding from God due to the shame of their sin; you can confess your sins to God who is faithful and just to forgive you and cleanse you of all your unrighteousness! (1 John 1:9)
I said all this to say, there is nothing new under the sun beloved and God knew all the 5 w's and the h before we sinned against Him. When we find ourselves on the path of the walk of shame, don't hide beloved, don't cover up, don't make excuses, don't distance yourself or disconnect from the church because even if no one in the natural can see you, ALWAYS KNOW: GOD SEES and David reminds us after he committed adultery and murder, he was remorseful for what he did and then realizing, when he sinned, he sinned against God and God alone. (Ps 51:4)
So when you find that you are caught out there naked and ashamed because your sin is ever before you, it may sound crazy but you are in a good place. Not everyone may welcome you with open arms but there will be the few who you will be able to also confess your sins to and who God will also use to restore you. (Galatians 6:1)
Be encouraged Beloved! Confess your sins especially when God is the One willing to do the FORGIVING! Don't worry, God got you covered!

Today, Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the Lenten season. The lenten season is observed to better appreciate the death, and resurrection of Christ through self-examination, repentance, prayer, fasting, and self-denial. In addition, Ash Wednesday has another significant meaning for me. It was on this day, Ash Wednesday that the Lord brought me out of my induced coma in 2000, March 8th to be exact. Prior to that, I could only recall seeing my brother the night of the fire  in January who accompanied me in the ambulance while being transported to what was then called UMDNJ in Newark, NJ. On that Ash Wednesday, I can remember seeing both my grandmother and my mommy sitting in my hospital room. Grandma holding a can of Pepsi, and mommy doing something with my feet, lol. Probably clipping my toe nails. There is also that taste of chicken broth or soup I will never forget fed to me intravenously along with other fluids to sustain me while I was in a coma. Its been 16 years fr...
I heard it said once that people don't evangelize because they are too concerned about their finances. Instead of concerning ourselves with our finances, we need to make our trust in God a priority. Outside of God we will never have enough or be satisfied: therefore, we ought to totally rely upon the strength of God who is our Source and promised that we would not go without lack nor seed begging for bread. I've tried God at His word. There was a time I needed $500 and God laid me on the heart of someone and said, "God laid you on my heart to be a blessing to." The "things" we spend time worrying about that would potentially take our minds off of doing the work of God, God is already working that situation out for you. You just have to trust Him and continue in the work while you wait for Him to fulfill that which He promised. Now, if you haven't accepted Christ as your Lord and Savior then these promises do not apply to you but are available because Jes...
