Be Honest

When God shows you secret sins of your heart, don't try and find an exit, but continue to enter into His presence asking Him for cleansing, forgiveness, and filling more of Himself to replace that whole where that sin once took up residence in your heart.

The Bible says, "For you do not delight in sacrifice, otherwise I would give it; You are not pleased with burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; A broken and a contrite heart, O God, You will not despise," Psalm 51:17.

God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble, (James 4:6). Lord, I pray that your grace may abound because it is my desire to be submitted to you, and draw nearer to you. I pray that in everything I do, I pray that I follow Christ's example in Philippians 2. In Jesus's name I pray, Amen.

There was this young woman diagnosed with leukemia and she spent a considerable amount of time in cancer treatment facilities.   Everyone that came in contact with this young lady always referred to her as remarkable, and resilient. Today, Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the Lenten season. The lenten season is observed to better appreciate the death, and resurrection of Christ through self-examination, repentance, prayer, fasting, and self-denial. In addition, Ash Wednesday has another significant meaning for me. It was on this day, Ash Wednesday that the Lord brought me out of my induced coma in 2000, March 8th to be exact. Prior to that, I could only recall seeing my brother the night of the fire  in January who accompanied me in the ambulance while being transported to what was then called UMDNJ in Newark, NJ. On that Ash Wednesday, I can remember seeing both my grandmother and my mommy sitting in my hospital room. Grandma holding a can of Pepsi, and mommy doing something with my feet, lol. Probably clipping my toe nails. There is also that taste of chicken broth or soup I will never forget fed to me intravenously along with other fluids to sustain me while I was in a coma. "Naked & Ashamed!" Do you remember a time when you felt naked and ashamed? Perhaps you are feeling naked right now having discovered you are pregnant when others were unaware that you were even having premarital sex. What if you discovered you have a STD or the person you thought cared so much about you and who you surrendered your virginity to broke up with you. To heighten the issue, your ex has just told his boys or her girls about how you didn't live up to their expect ations in bed.
